MLL Announces Partnership with Lizard Skins

May 16, 2018 - Major League Lacrosse (MLL) News Release

BOSTON - Major League Lacrosse (MLL) announced today that the grip tape company Lizard Skins will be an official tape provider for the 2018 season. The Utah-based company will supply each of the nine MLL teams with their specialty tape this season.

"We are very happy to make our partnership with Lizard Skins official," said Bill Beach, sponsorship sales and fulfillment manager for MLL. "Many of our players have used their tape before and have seen the benefits of using it, so we are very excited to offer their great product to all of our players this season."

Lizard Skins first developed their DuraSoft Polymer Grip Tape for the handlebars of racing bicycles. The popularity of the tape led them to venture into other sports that required an enhanced grip on equipment, such as baseball, hockey and lacrosse. The lacrosse-specific tape is already being used by Chesapeake goalie Brian Phipps and Hounds attackman Kevin Crowley.

"We are excited to be partnering with Major League Lacrosse this year," said Brian Fruit, president of Lizard Skins. "We know that having reliable equipment is key to a successful game. Lacrosse is a sport filled with discipline, teamwork and commitment and that is the same dedication we put into making our grips. We want to supply these athletes with the best grip available so they can focus on playing the game."
