Mississippi Blues Invite Players To Training Camp
September 3, 2008 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Jackson, MS. The ABA Mississippi Blues have invited Richard Griffin (Alcorn State), Jonathan Oliver (Tougaloo) and Christopher Watson (Mississippi Valley State) to come to training camp from the first tryouts. "These players showed that they can stand out in a crowd," stated team owner Daniel Price.
Richard Griffin is a talented shooter from beyond the arc. "We like Richard because of his ability to play the point and shooting guard positions. Jonathan Oliver showed his ability to score from everywhere on the floor. He is a big guard at 6'4" who can play 103 spots. Oliver is a former Freshman of the Year in 2000-01 at Southern University A&M and has potential to be a really good player on this level," added Price. "He has size and strength that makes him hard to guard while Watson showed his versatility all over the floor being able to defend guards to big men. He showed off his shooting ability as well. He came into camp showing that he has played against some of the nation's top players."
The Blues will announce their Second Tryout Camp shortly as they intend to be a force in the ABA. For more information, email d.price@mbelhoops.com or call 601 362 2083 or visit www.mbelhoops.com or www.abalive.com.
