Minnesota Swarm to Retire Eric Perkins #66 Jersey on Friday, March 14 Against the Chicago Shamrox

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The National Lacrosse League's (NLL) Minnesota Swarm announced today that Eric Perkins #66 jersey will be retired in a special halftime ceremony on Friday, March 14 when the club hosts the Chicago Shamrox at 7:00 p.m. at Xcel Energy Center. In addition, Eric Perkins bobbleheads will be distributed to the first 5,000 fans in attendance at the game.

Bobbleheads will be distributed to the first 5,000 fans in attendance exclusively at Gate 1, which will open at 5:30 p.m. An additional 100 bobbleheads will be set aside for a "Second Chance" lottery. Once the 5,000 bobbleheads have been distributed, all remaining fans will receive a "Second Chance" lottery ticket with a number. Once per quarter, 25 lottery ticket numbers will be displayed on the video board. Fans may redeem their winning lottery ticket at the Swarm Sales & Service booth near Section 103 to claim their Perkins bobblehead.

"Although I never really made a significant on field contribution, I feel as though my stabilizing influence in the locker room helped galvanize the team and lay a foundation for the success we're seeing so abundantly this year," said Perkins, who made his NLL debut on Jan. 13, 2007 against Chicago - his only pro lacrosse game. The KARE 11 sportscaster has since retired, but has followed the Swarm closely this season through its 6-2 start.

"Eight seconds, yeah maybe, but what many people fail to remember was the selfless two minute contribution I made serving that penalty," Perkins said. "Now that's a true team player."

Minnesota will also retire Perkins #66 jersey in a halftime ceremony on March 14.

"Truly an honor," he explained. "To have my jersey etched indelibly in history and to have my very own bobblehead, both are so rewarding. What I think I'm most proud of though, is that I will forever in the National Lacrosse League statistical record books."
