Minnesota Swarm To Host Military Night Saturday, April 1

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The National Lacrosse League's (NLL) Minnesota Swarm announced today that Military Night will be held on Saturday, April 1 in conjunction with the club's game against the Toronto Rock at 7:00 PM at Xcel Energy Center. Military Night will be highlighted by numerous events and activities featuring members of the Minnesota Army National Guard. In addition, more than 500 tickets have been provided to local military families, made possible by the support of local corporations.

The following events and activities will take place as part of Military Night at Saturday's Swarm game:

- National Guard members Lt. Sam Andrews and Sgt. Chris Nelson will deliver the ceremonial game ball by repelling 130 feet from the ceiling of the Xcel Energy Center.

- St. Paul's Holman Field 34th Aviation Brigade will present a 12' x 25'American flag for the singing of the national anthem.

- Video greetings from Minnesota troops stationed in Iraq will be played on the arena scoreboard.

- Halftime will feature a swearing-in ceremony for new soldiers of the Minnesota Army National Guard.

- Several military vehicles will be on display outside of Gates 1 & 2 of the arena.

- Banners will be on display for fans to sign, which will be sent to troops stationed overseas.
