SAINT PAUL, Minn. - The Minnesota Swarm (2-1) will be looking to stay perfect on the road and score its third straight win this Friday, Jan. 30 against the Buffalo Bandits (2-2) at First Niagara Center . Faceoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT. Fans can watch a live stream of the game on NLL Live by visiting live.nll.com (U.S) and TSNGo (Canada). Minnesota is coming off its second straight road victory after defeating the New England Black Wolves 19-13 last Saturday night. The Swarm trailed for only 15 seconds in the game and tallied an impressive 19 goals, which was the most by the team in the regular season since April 6, 2013 .
"There's parts where we can get better and after watching the New England game, there are some things we need to tighten up," Swarm assistant coach Aime Caines said. "We're pretty happy right now."
The Swarm will be counting on their balanced scoring attack as they strive for their first road win against Buffalo since 2009 when the team won 16-15. Forwards Callum Crawford (8g, 13a), Shayne Jackson (9g, 9a), Miles Thompson (8g, 6a) and transition player Jordan MacIntosh (4g, 7a) have all put up big numbers so far this season and will look to build off last week's 19-goal performance.
"I just focus on playing as a full offensive unit; it's not going to be one guy each shift putting the team on his back. We've got to all work together," Jackson said. "That's just what I've tried to work on this year is come out and be a good teammate and just get the chemistry going throughout all the offensive guys."
On defense, Swarm goaltender Zach Higgins earned the start against New England and was impressive in net, notching 41 saves. Defensemen Jordan Houtby (1g, 2a) and Alex Crepinsek (2g) also registered goals for Minnesota .
Minnesota will need to be on top of its game against Buffalo, who is returning home after a close road loss to Toronto . Forwards Ryan Benesch (14g, 8a), Dhane Smith (9g, 10a), Mark Steenhuis (6g, 11a) and Joe Resetarits (4g, 6a) lead Buffalo 's offense. Goaltender Anthony Cosmo has been in net for Buffalo 's two wins and two losses this season and has recorded a combined 153 saves.
This will be the first of two trips the Swarm will make to Buffalo this season with the other on Saturday, March 21. Minnesota will host Buffalo one time this season on Saturday, April 11. Minnesota is currently 2-0 on its road trip and will look to stay perfect on the road against the Bandits.
The Swarm will return to Ho-Chunk Nation field at Xcel Energy Center on Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m. CT to face the Rochester Knighthawks for Native American Heritage Night. The first 5,000 fans will receive a Swarm cowbell courtesy of Ho-Chunk Gaming Wisconsin . The Swarm is proud to announce that 50-percent of all new season ticket revenue -- all purchases between Jan. 3 to Feb. 5 -- will be donated to Make-A-Wish Minnesota.
