
Minnesota Swarm Signs Free Agent D Ray Guze

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. â Minnesota Swarm General Manager Marty O'Neill announced today that the National Lacrosse League (NLL) club has signed free agent defenseman Ray Guze to a contract.
Guze, 29 (6/8/75), appeared in one game with the Buffalo Bandits during the NLL's 2003 campaign and tallied one assist and five loose balls. The former practice squad player was originally invited to the Bandits tryout camp and signed to a contract on November 22, 2002. Guze played five years for the South Fraser Stickmen in the British Columbia Junior A Lacrosse League, claiming one League championship. The Vancouver, British Columbia-native has spent the last six seasons playing with the Langley Thunder in the Western Lacrosse Association (WLA). Guze was also named Coach of the Year for his work with the Surrey Stickmen in the British Columbia Junior A Lacrosse League this season.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound left wing attended the University of Lethbridge on a hockey scholarship (1998-2001) and played one season of professional hockey with the Rockford IceHogs of the United Hockey League (UHL). The Swarm will begin play in the NLL's Eastern Division this January.
