SAINT PAUL, Minn. - The National Lacrosse League's (NLL) Minnesota Swarm today re-signed T Tyler Hass to a three-year contract.
Hass, 26, notched 10 points (8g, 2a) and collected 44 loose balls in 14 games during his rookie season with Minnesota in 2011. The Victoria, British Colombia native led the NLL in shooting percentage (.615) after converting on 8 of 13 shots and was named to the 2011 NLL All-Rookie Team along with teammate T Andrew Suitor.
"Tyler is another example of a young, athletic player that has made a long-term commitment to the Swarm," Associate General Manager Joe Sullivan said. "It's gratifying that players like Tyler want to be a part of the foundation for success that we are building in Minnesota."
Minnesota selected Hass in the third round (30th overall) in the 2006 NLL Entry Draft. Prior to joining the Swarm in 2011, Hass used his 6-foot-6, 210-pound frame to pursue a basketball career at the University of Victoria.
"If you look at what Tyler did for us last season after spending a few years away from lacrosse, he was incredible," Sullivan said. "We think he is going to bring his size and transition game to a new level this year."
