Minnesota Swarm Announces New Schedule for 2008 NLL Season

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Minnesota Swarm, in conjunction with the National Lacrosse League (NLL), released a new schedule for the 2008 season today. Minnesota will open its fourth NLL campaign at Toronto on Friday, Jan. 11 and then host the Rock on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 7:00 p.m. at Xcel Energy Center to complete a home-and-home series.

The Swarm's 2008 schedule consists of 16 games - eight at Xcel Energy Center and eight road contests. Minnesota's home schedule features three contests on Friday, four games on Saturday and one Sunday match. The Swarm will play the following Eastern Division teams twice (Buffalo, New York, Philadelphia, Rochester and Toronto) and play Chicago four times for a total of 14 games. Minnesota will play two games against Western Division opponents, a road game at San Jose February 2 and a home contest against Portland February 10. The Swarm completed its 2007 NLL campaign with a 9-7 record and qualified for the playoffs for the second consecutive season.
