Minnesota Swarm Announce 2015 Regular Season Schedule

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - The National Lacrosse League's (NLL) Minnesota Swarm today announced the team's 2015 regular season schedule. Minnesota will open its 11 th season of professional box lacrosse in the NLL at home against the Colorado Mammoth on Saturday, Jan. 3 at 7 p.m. CT.

The Swarm plays a total of 18 regular season games from January to May, and will host nine home games at The Hive inside Xcel Energy Center. In 2014, for the second consecutive year, The Hive was named the Best Arena Experience in the NLL (via StadiumJourney.com), and since the team's inaugural season in 2005, Minnesota has averaged close to 10,000 fans per home game.

"Our organization is committed to making the 2015 Swarm season our best one yet," Swarm Co-Owner and President Andy Arlotta said. "Despite an amazing home crowd last season, we did not meet our high expectations on the floor. Because of that, we've made some exciting changes to our roster this offseason and continue to have our sights set on bringing a Champion's Cup to Minnesota. We look forward to seeing all of our passionate fans during our home opener at The Hive on January 3."

By opponent, the Swarm's 18-game schedule breaks down as follows: Buffalo (Home: April 11; Away: Jan. 30, March 21 3 total); Calgary (Home: April 18 1 total); Colorado (Home: Jan. 3; Away: March 15 2 total); Connecticut (Home: March 14, April 3; Away: Jan. 24, March 28 4 total); Edmonton (Home: April 25; Away: Jan. 10 2 total); Rochester (Home: Feb. 6, May 2; Away: April 4 3 total), Toronto (Home: Feb. 13; Away: Feb. 14 2 total) and Vancouver (Away: Feb. 28 1 total).

By month, the schedule breaks down as follows: January (1 home, 3 away 4 total); February (2 home, 2 away 4 total); March (1 home, 3 away 4 total); April (4 home, 1 away 5 total) and May (1 home 1 total).

By day, the schedule breaks down as follows: Saturday (13), Friday (4) and Sunday (1).

Minnesota will also face three back-to-backs this season: Feb. 13-14 (TOR, @TOR), March 14-15 (CONN, @COL) and April 3-4 (CONN, @ROC).

The Swarm will get the opportunity to strengthen their roster with three Top 10 overall selections in the 2014 NLL Entry Draft on Monday, Sept. 22. Minnesota holds picks Nos. 3 and 5 in the first-round and the first selection in the second-round (No. 10 overall).
