Mat-Su Miners News Release

PALMER, Alaska - Thirteen may be considered a notoriously unlucky number, but the Mat-Su Miners were thrilled to be associated with it on Friday.

A seven-game win streak in league play has catapulted the Miners to No. 13 in the latest national rankings from Collegiate Summer Baseball.

"It's a great honor, we have a good team this year," Mat-Su outfielder Michael Donadio said. "It just really goes to show how far we have come as a team. I think we're only going to get better and finish the season strong."

The top programs listed in Friday's rankings include teams from collegiate summer leagues all across the country. The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox of the Cape Cod League sit atop the rankings with a 22-12 record.

The Miners currently hold a 21-12 record and lead the Peninsula Oilers by 3.5 games. Mat-Su is the only Alaska Baseball League team listed in the weekly rankings.
