
Millrats to Conduct Basketball Camp on Nantucket Island

June 23, 2009 Nantucket, Mass: The Manchester Millrats are please to announce a partnership with the Nantucket Boys and Girls Club to conduct a week long basketball camp on Nantucket Island. Nantucket is the home of Millrats principal owner Jason Briggs.
The camp will run July 13th to the 17th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm each day, and will feature professional basketball coaches and players from the Millrats organization, who will personally to instruct the campers. The focus will be on individual skills training and helping each kid advance in the art of basketball. An example of the caliber of players that will be at the camp to instruct the campers (and more):
Al Stewart 5'10 Point Guard: 2009 PBL Co-Defensive Player of the Year. 2008 WBA Championship Co-MVP. 2008 All-ABA Honorable Mention. Starred the past two seasons for the Manchester Millrats. Played at division one Drake University.
Kenyon Gamble 7'0 Center: Has participated in several NBA training camps including the Boston Celtics and the Indiana Pacers. Played professionally for the Millrats this season during February when the Millrats were 8-0. Also played overseas in many places including Europe, the Middle East, and South America. Holds several CBA records for blocked shots.
"We are proud to work with the Nantucket Boys and Girls Club to present this unique basketball camp and we know the kids will be as excited as the players to work together on improving their game," stated Millrats Principal Owner Jason Briggs.

The clinics are open for kids ages 9+ and the tuition is $150.00 for the week. Attendance is guaranteed on a 'first come, first serve basis'. Campers will bring their own lunch each day.
The Manchester Millrats are a Premier Basketball League (PBL) franchise entering their third season overall this year. In their first two seasons, the Millrats have reached the playoff semifinals each year and have posted an impressive 43-15 combined regular season record.
