
Millrats Drop Series Opener at Home 125-110

April 2nd, 2009 Manchester, NH): The Manchester Millrats dropped the PBL semifinal series at home 125-110 to the Rochester Razorsharks.
The Razorsharks blasted out of the gate with a 9-2 lead over the hosts, but the Millrats rallied behind Tommy Mitchell's hot hand. Desmond Ferguson hit two three points during the rally including one at the first quarter buzzer to tie the score 33-33.
In the second quarter, the two teams exchanged blows with the Razorsharks gaining a slight 59-57 lead when reserve guard Steve Hailey was fouled with .7 seconds left. His two free throws gave Rochester a 61-57 lead at the intermission.
The Razorsharks crisp execution keyed a 37-16 run to close the third quarter on Keith Friel's three pointer and give Rochester a twenty seven point lead, 105-78.
Manchester's reserves Sam Carey, Lincoln Glass, and Alex Owumi rallied the Millrats to within 15 points, but Manchester could get no closer in the fourth.
The Razorsharks were led by Sammy Monroe's 26 points and Durham, NH native Keith Friel's 23. The Millrats leading scorer was Tommy Mitchell with 31.
Game 2 of the series tips off at 1:05pm on Sunday at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, New York. If necessary, Game 3 will be on Tuesday at 7:00pm in Rochester. The winner of the series will advance to the PBL Finals.
