Manchester, New Hampshire: Manchester Millrats star guard Anthony Anderson has been named the "Minor League Player of the Week" by ProBasketballNews.com. The selection was made from players in ABA, CBA, NBDL, and PBL.
Anderson, once a four-year starter at UMass, averaged 32.5 points per game last week, on a perfect 12-12 from inside the arc and 13-21 (63%) from three point range.
Referred to by the Vermont Frost Heaves broadcast crew as "the best guard we've seen in the ABA", Anderson has shown to be a notch above the competition all season. While leading the Millrats in minutes played and scoring, the 5'11 Anderson shoots an amazing 69% from the floor and 48% from three point range.
"Anthony has consistently shown the caliber of player that he is, and we firmly believe he has the ability to follow in the footsteps of a Jamario Moon (minor leaguer now in the NBA)," stated Millrats GM Ian McCarthy.
