Mill Rats Add 6'11 Centre Blair (January 25, 2011 Saint John, NB): The Saint John Mill Rats have added 6'11 centre Tyrelle Blair to the roster.
Tyrelle Blair played his college ball at Boston College alongside future NBA draft picks Craig Smith, Sean Williams, and Jared Dudley. As a senior, Blair averaged 5.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.4 blocks per game in the rugged ACC.
He parlayed his college career into NBA workouts with the Dallas Mavericks, New Orleans Hornets, and played NBA Summer League in 2008 with the Indiana Pacers. He attended training camp workouts with the LA Lakers.
Blair has played overseas in the Ukraine and in Turkey, in addition to stints with the Maine Red Claws and Bakersfield Jam of the NBA Development League.
The Mill Rats travel next to play the Halifax Rainmen at the Metro Centre on January 29th.
