Michna is three-time award winner

A three-time award winner, a former West Virginia Mountaineer standout and a Silverback highlight this week's class of VidSwap.com Player of the Week honorees.

Chicago's Russ Michna becomes a three-time Offensive Player of the Week award winner by picking up the offensive award, while Wheeling's Kevin "Boo" McLee wins his first weekly award as the defensive winner. Miami Valley kicker Travis Johnson is this week's pick as the Special Teams Player of the Week.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK Russ Michna, Chicago Slaughter

Chicago's signal caller becomes the first three-time winner of a weekly award, garnering honors after his superb performance against Rock River on Saturday night. Michna led the Slaughter to their ninth-straight victory, defeating division rival Rock River 77-47 at the Rockford MetroCentre in Rockford, Ill.

Michna had his hand in on 10 of the team's 11 touchdowns on the night, including a CIFL record nine passing touchdowns. He threw touchdown tosses to four different receivers, finished the night 21-of-28 for 211 yards and five times for 23 yards and one touchdown. The record-breaking toss was a 14-yarder to DeJuan Alfonzo with 34 seconds left in the game.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK Kevin "Boo" McLee, Wheeling Wildcats

The former West Virginia Mountaineer and St. Louis Rams linebacker was a defensive force during Wheeling's first home victory of the season. The Wildcats picked up their second win of the season on Saturday night, beating MiamiValley 33-13 at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.

McLee, who helped the Mountaineers to a 2006 Sugar Bowl upset of Georgia, tallied eight tackles in the contest, including six solos. He also had 2.5 tackles for loss and broke up two passes during the Wildcat victory.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK Travis Johnson, Miami Valley Silverbacks

The Miami Valley kicker scored seven of his team's 13 points during a loss to Wheeling on Saturday night. The Silverbacks fell to 0-6 on the year with a 33-13 setback to the Wildcats at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.

Johnson used his powerful leg to keep the Silverbacks in the hunt against the Wildcats. He nailed two 40-plus yard field goals in the second quarter, including a 40-yarder with 4:21 left in the quarter and a 42-yarder as time expired in the half to cut Wheeling's lead to one. He also averaged 47 yards per kickoff en route to becoming the first player from a losing team to win a weekly award in 2009.
