Miami Manatees News Release
MIAMI, Fla. â Miami Manatees Head Coach Zac Boyer today announced the signing of Right Wing Matt Kohansky and Center Ryan Kiley.
Hailing from Massachusetts, Kohansky attended Brown University from 1997 to 2001 and was the team leading scorer in his junior and senior years. Last season with the Cape Fear Fire Antz, Kohansky was tied for 2nd in goals (23), 2nd in assists (38), and 2nd in team scoring with 61 points in 53 games.
"Matt was kind of a sleeper player. He wasn't so much a dominant player but he was always steady and fast every game. He came to play every night." Boyer said.
Kiley, another Massachusetts native, played four seasons with Merrimack College. Kiley was a teammate of Kohansky last season with the Cape Fear Fire Antz. Playing in 53 games, Kiley was 3rd in team scoring with 43 points and 3rd in penalty minutes (187).
"He is a great penalty killer who brings great grit and leadership to the table," Boyer said. "He was very hard to play against, and he was always an âin your face' kind of player."
Boyer's Miami Manatees will face off against the Lakeland Loggerheads, Jacksonville Barracudas, Orlando Seals, Macon Trax, and a yet-to-be-named Central Alabama team in late October.
Season Tickets for the Miami Manatees are now on sale. For further information, please contact the Manatees at (305) 536-7825.
