Memphis Express News Release
Memphis, Tenn. - The Memphis Express is proud to join the WeAreMemphis community and larger #BringYourSoul movement, showcasing the originality, soul and change that is Memphis. Together we believe it takes soul to find a rhythm all your own, to give more than you take, and to change the world around you. It takes soul to be a Memphian, and together, WeAreMemphis. Welcome to our city of soul. Don't forget to bring yours.
The Memphis Express invites everyone in the city of Memphis to the inaugural Express game on Saturday, February 16th to participate in an in-game Silent Disco sponsored by City Gear. Believed to be the first time a silent disco has ever been held at a professional football game, the event will be held in The Hub seating section of Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium. As part of a special ticket offer, a portion of ticket proceeds will benefit the WeAreMemphis community, creating catalytic change and civic pride across Memphis.
Individuals interested in attending the game and participating in the silent disco can purchase a ticket for $30. Price also includes a drink coupon at the game. Tickets can be purchased at http://memphisexpresstix.com/MBI2019.
"We're thrilled to have Memphis Express join the #BringYourSoul movement, especially as we enter a New Century of Soul honoring Memphis and Shelby County's bicentennial in 2019," said Kosha Irby, Memphis Express President. "This is a unique moment to honor our past while shining a spotlight on our next generation of innovators, artists, athletes and leaders that will change Memphis and the world in the next 100 years."
For the final home football game of the season on Saturday, April 13th, the Express will again partner with WeAreMemphis, at which time original street art will be created by local artists and projected onto stadium surfaces, turning the Liberty Bowl into an art installation.
