McPherson and Hills Honored by the AFL

TAMPA BAY - Storm quarterback Adrian McPherson was honored for his performance in a 70-62 win over the Spokane Shock this past Saturday night. The AFL announced that McPherson has been named the Russell Athletic Offensive Player of The Week.

Wide receiver Joe Hills has been nominated for AFL MVP of The Week.

Russell Athletic Offensive Player of The Week: McPherson (6-4, 225, Florida State) accounted for 10 total touchdowns for the second time this season in Tampa Bay's 70-62 victory over the Spokane Shock in Week 6. This was the fourth time in Storm history in which a quarterback has accounted for 10 total touchdowns. He completed 21-of-36 passes for 310 yards and seven passing touchdowns. The dual-threat added 50 yards and three scores on the ground as well. His 17 rushing attempts is the highest single-game total in the AFL this season. It is the second time that McPherson has earned this honor.

AFL MVP of The Week: For the second time this season Storm wide receiver Joe Hills has been nominated for AFL MVP of the Week. Versus the Shock, Hills (6-5, 215, Tennessee State) caught 10 passes for 177 yards and five touchdowns. Fans will have 24 hours to vote on ArenaFootball.com beginning at 1 p.m. ET on Wednesday, May 1. The winner will be announced on Thursday, May 2.
