December 2, 2011 - Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL) - Anaheim Bolts News Release

Anaheim, CA- (December 1, 2011)- The Anaheim Bolts will be looking to pick up its first three points of the season when it faces off against the Western Division and league leaders, the Turlock Express on Friday, December 2nd at the Anaheim Convention Center Arena. Kick off is scheduled for 8:00 P.M. PST.

Friday night is also Mascot Night! Any fans who come dressed as a Mascot have a chance to win prizes and will be invited to play in the half-time game. Any fans intrested should contact the Bolts at 714-321-9898 or by e-mail at [email protected]

The Bolts come into the match on the back of two tough losses against the defending PASL champions the San Diego Sockers. In the first match at home, the Bolts held a 6-5 lead before succumbing to a Sockers onslaught in the fourth quarter to lose 10-6. In the second match in Del Mar, the Bolts showed tremendous improvement, but lost in heart breaking fashion 7-6 in overtime.

"Our young team played incredibly well over the first two games," boasted head coach and owner Bernie Lilavois, "we just came up against a very talented and experienced Sockers team. If we continue to play like this, we are going to get a lot of wins in this league."

Things don't get any easier for the Bolts, however, as Turlock makes the trip south with a 4-0 record including 30 goals for and just 14 goals against.

"Turlock is a strong team with a high octane offense," Lilavois said, "but we have a very solid defensive core. As long as we stick to our game-plan, we can stop Turlock and get the ball to our goal-scorers to take care of business at the other end.

Scoring goals has not been a problem for the Bolts, Adriano De Lima and Hugo Casillas have four goals each while Enrique Tovar has chipped in with a two goals and four helpers.

Although defense was never an issue, the Bolts further strengthened its back line this week with the signings of Cameron Dunn and Brennan Tennelle. Dunn, a former UC Irvine standout spent this summer playing for the Los Angeles Blues in the USL Pro league. Tennelle played his college ball at UC Santa Barbara and joins the Bolts from the National Professional Soccer League's San Diego Flash.

The match with Turlock is the first of two matches this weekend at the Anaheim Convention Center Arena. On Saturday night the Bolts will turn their attention to the US Open Arena cup where it will face local side DOCEMAS.
