Mason City Toros Sign New Lease, Will Continue in Mason City

North Iowa Bulls News Release
MASON CITY, Iowa - The North Iowa Bulls and Mason City Toros junior hockey clubs, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) and North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL), are excited to announce the signing of a new multi-year lease agreement for the Toros with the City of Mason City and Mason City Youth Hockey. The new lease for the Toros adds to an existing agreement already in place for the Bulls, and ensures a long-term commitment from both teams to the future of the sport in the River City.
The Toros recently finished the first season under their current identity, after the relocation of the NAHL's Amarillo Bulls last spring and the subsequent rebranding of the NA3HL team that previously played under the North Iowa Bulls moniker. This year's team finished second in the NA3HL West Division, falling just one win short of returning to the Fraser Cup tournament to defend its 2021 championship.
The 2022-23 Bulls and Toros, operating under the ownership of F&S Management, will once again call the Mason City Arena home, after a 2021-22 campaign in which Mason City hosted two junior hockey teams for the very first time. Junior hockey itself will celebrate a milestone in Mason City this upcoming season, as the sport celebrates its 40th anniversary in the North Iowa area.
"Our goal with this new lease is to ensure that we have two thriving junior hockey teams in Mason City," said F&S Management president Tyler Shaffar. "Along with our partners in Mason City Youth Hockey, we believe Mason City can be a true hub for the sport in North Iowa."
The Toros continued the area's rich junior hockey tradition this past season, with seven players earning in-season NAHL call-ups and two signing NAHL tenders for next season. The organization is also set to announce the first college commitment in Toros history this week.
Mason City Toros season tickets are on sale now - to purchase 2022-23 season tickets, or for more information, call the Toros front office at 641-423-GOAL (4625) or visit www.masoncitytoros.com.
