Maryland Marvels To Support Multiple Sclerosis
December 11, 2009 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Maryland Marvels News Release
Laurel, MD. The ABA Maryland Marvels will support Tamika Myers ("Mimi Terrell") and the Stomp MS Foundation at its next home game on December 20th at 5pm when the Marvels compete against the Pittsburgh Phantoms at the Severn School, 201 Water Street, Severna Park, MD.
Tamika is a Washington DC native. She attended HD Woodson High School, George Washington University, and The Ashford University in Clinton IA. She started performing at the age of 14 and has worked with R & B artists Montel Jordan, Raheem DeVaughn, and Tony Terry. Her first solo project, "It's Mimi" was released in 2005.
In the midst of pursuing a music career, Tamika was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) ten years ago. During a conversation about MS, she shared, "MS is an ugly disease. Yet and still there is no gratification that fulfills me more than helping others to avoid confusion and anxiety that I experienced when I was diagnosed. In my heart, I know that there is a cure for auto immune diseases and my sole purpose is to assist researchers, and provide ample resources for people that suffer with MS." To fulfill that sense of need to help others. Tamika founded Stomp MS Foundation, which is dedicated to offering support to other MS sufferers in the area.
Tamika will perform the "National Anthem" as well as the halftime show for the Maryland Marvels on December 20. The public is encouraged to come out and help the Marvels support Mimi and the Stomp MS Foundation as well as enjoy a great game of basketball and musical entertainment.
