Manchester Wolves News Release

MANCHESTER, NH--Danton Barto, the Manchester Wolves head coach who won the ArenaCup with the Memphis Xplorers in 2005, has been named as the fourth best all-time arenafootball2 league head coach.

Barto (60-45 overall, 6-3 postseason) was named the af2 Coach of the Year in his championship season and is entering his second season with the Wolves after guiding the franchise to its most successful campaign in history in 2008. In his first year with the Wolves, Barto took the team all the way to the American Conference title game before falling to the eventual ArenaCup champion Tennessee Valley Vipers.

As part of the af2 10th anniversary season celebration, the league is naming its all-time top 10 in several different categories. The voting for this honor was conducted among the league's current and former head coaches, the media covering the league, and fans all across the country.

"Everyone who is a part of the Wolves organization and our fans know that Coach Barto does an outstanding job," said Wolves General Manager Stephanie Bike. "We are gratified that the league, the fans not only here in Manchester but all across the nation, and Coach Barto's peers have recognized his accomplishments with this honor. We are certain that there are many more victories, and hopefully another championship, still to come in his distinguished career."

Barto is one of five active head coaches including Rich Ingold, Chris Siegfried, Bruce Cowdrey, Ben Bennett, and Kevin Bouis who made the list. Bennett coached the Wolves from 2005-07.
