MANCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE AWARDED ARENAFOOTBALL2 TEAM FOR 2002

MANCHESTER, NH (June 21, 2001) - The arenafootball2 Board of Directors have awarded a team to Manchester, New Hampshire for the 2002 season, announced today by af2's Executive Director Mary Ellen Garling. The team will play its games at the new state-of-the-art Manchester Civic Center, which will seat 10,046 fans for arenafootball2.
The Manchester team will be under the direction of Bud Comstock of Amherst, NH, who will serve as the team's president, and Chris Morgan of Manchester, who will be the vice president and general manager. Comstock is the founder and president of Cirrus Entertainment Group, which specializes in concert promotion and sports marketing. Morgan was involved in professional sports marketing and promotion for ten years prior to assuming the vice president's role at Cirrus.
This is arenafootball2's second season, operating with an unprecedented twenty-eight teams. Expansion plans for arenafootball2 calls for the addition of 10-14 teams for the 2002 season including opening up a Western and Northeast division. Manchester, NH is the fourth expansion team announced for the 2002 season. Bakersfield, CA; Mobile, AL; and Albany, NY were previously announced. The remainder of the teams will be announced within the next month.
"The game of arenafootball2 is a fast, exciting sport and great entertainment for families and sports fans of all ages," Comstock said. "The Manchester team will be another major component in the development of our city. We intend to become heavily involved in the community with our coaches and players, and to give our fans a chance to enjoy this great game with the family budget in mind. This is not just football, it is pure entertainment."
