Colorado Mammoth News Release
DENVER - The Colorado Mammoth announced today that the team has acquired forward Drew Westervelt from the Philadelphia Wings. Westervelt, 28, is a dominant right-handed goal-scorer who has tallied 30-plus goals in four of the past five seasons. Colorado gave up two second-round selections in 2013, a first-round pick in 2015, and transition player Ryan Hotaling in the trade while securing a fourth-pick in Monday's entry draft.
"Drew's a big, dominant, and strong offensive force in the NLL," said Mammoth president & general manager Steve Govett. "He has adapted extremely well to the indoor game, and will have a major impact on our offense."
The Bel Air, Md. native graduated from the University of Maryland-Baltimore County (UMBC) in 2007 as one of the school's all-time leading scorers. The 6'5" Westervelt is the second-tallest on the Mammoth roster. He has 164 goals and 138 assists in his six-year NLL career, all with Philadelphia.
