Macon Music News Release
MACON, GA - The Macon Music today announced that they will officially be extending a professional contract to the latest American Idol, Taylor Hicks. A week ago, Hicks was crowned American Idol on FOX's hit television show, "American Idol."
Macon Music General Manager Matt Krantz believes that Hicks would be an asset to the Music organization, both on and off the field. "Taylor not only displayed a great deal of enthusiasm and vocal ability during his run with American Idol, but what caught our eye is the amazing athleticism he incorporated into some of his dancing maneuvers on the show. We feel like the Music would greatly benefit from both his athletic and vocal abilities."
"We are certain that being named the latest American Idol will lead to many, many opportunities for Taylor, but we think that it makes sense for Taylor to join the 'Macon Music' to further his career. In today's society the sports and entertainment fields continue to be more and more intertwined," added Krantz. "He could also help us out by singing the national anthem prior to each of our home games."
The Macon Music is the flagship franchise of the South Coast League of Professional Baseball and will begin play in May of 2007.
