COLUMBUS, OHIO (November 10, 2015) - The Ohio Machine is pleased to announce that for the first time in club history, the team will host an open tryout. The open tryout will take place on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Capital University at 10 a.m.
In order to participate in the tryout, players must pre-register for the Major League Lacrosse Player Pool and be at least 21 years of age. The deadline to register for the MLL Player Pool is Friday, November 13 at 5 p.m. ET.

The Machine will add at least one player from the open tryout to its Preseason Active Roster. That player will receive an invitation to the Machine's 2016 Training Camp where he will have the opportunity to earn a fulltime roster spot for the 2016 Major League Lacrosse season.
"As a coaching staff, we understand there is an abundance of lacrosse talent in our region that simply needs the opportunity to display their skills," Machine Vice President & Head Coach Bear Davis said. "Over the past two seasons, we have had great success finding players that can contribute to our team in multiple ways, and this open tryout is a continuation of that philosophy."
Last season, the Machine claimed faceoff specialist Andrew Rullan from the MLL Player Pool. Rullan had participated in the Machine's Training Camp scrimmage playing for the select team that took on the Machine. Rullan was named to the Machine's Practice Squad and spent the end of the regular season and postseason on the Machine's Active Roster.
The tryout will consist of a brief combine with competitive drills and game-like situations followed by a scrimmage.
The cost for participating in the tryout is $100 for players signed up by January 1, and increases to $125 per player after that date. The registration fee includes a reversible Ohio Machine pinnie and lunch.
