Machine Selects Seven Players in 2015 Major League Lacrosse

COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Ohio Machine selected seven players in the 2015 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft. The Machine traded up to the 22nd pick to select University of North Carolina attackman Jimmy Bitter. The Machine also selected Ohio State's David Planning with the 57th overall pick. All players selected in the 2015 MLL Collegiate Draft will be eligible to join the Machine following the conclusion of 2015 NCAA Lacrosse Season.

"We feel that we got our guy," Machine Vice President & Head Coach Bear Davis said. "Overall, we are very pleased with the players we drafted tonight and we feel we took another step forward as a team tonight."

In 2014, Bitter was second among all Tar Heels with 30 goals and 37 points. Over his three years at UNC, Bitter has 99 goals, 41 assists and 140 points. In moving up to select Bitter, the Machine traded defenseman Max Schmidt to the Denver Outlaws.

"We thank Max for everything he did for the Machine over the past three years," Davis said. "Max was a true ambassador for the Machine and we wish him the best of luck with the Outlaws."

In the 4th Round, the Machine selected UMass defensive midfielder Ryan Izzo. A red-shirt senior, Izzo has posted 83 groundballs and caused 22 turnovers. With the 35th pick, the Machine selected University of Pennsylvania defenseman Matt McMahon. In the 6th Round, Ohio picked midfielder Brian Kormondy out of the University of Delaware with the 42nd overall pick.

The Machine had back-to-back picks in the 7th Round. With the 49th pick, Ohio selected High Point University goalie Austin Geisler. With the 50th pick, the Machine selected midfielder John Reicherter out of Hofstra University. With its final pick, the Machine selected Ohio State's David Planning.

Season tickets for the Machine's 2015 season are now on sale and range from General Admission at $92 to a Field Level Box at $2,400 and include seven regular season home games plus a 2015 MLL playoff game.
