Machine Hires Darryl Delia as Assistant Coach

COLUMBUS, OHIO (October 22, 2015) - The Ohio Machine has named Darryl Delia Assistant Coach and Director of Player Personal, it was announced today by Machine Vice President & Head Coach Bear Davis. Delia takes over for Tom Mariano, who joined the Chesapeake Bayhawks coaching staff.

"We are excited to have someone with a wealth of knowledge such as Coach Delia.," Davis said. "I have known Coach Delia since 1996 and he has always been a mentor to me both on and off the field. He has a lot of great experience that he will bring to the table and I know he will be a great fit with the Ohio Machine."

Delia is currently the Head Coach of Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Connecticut where he started the varsity program and led the team to its first ever victory during the inaugural 2014 varsity season. With the Machine, Delia will serve as an assistant coach and will also be heavily involved in lacrosse operations. Delia will play a key role in player acquisitions, trade negations and draft preparation.

"Darryl has followed the Machine very closely over the past two seasons and knows our personnel and style very well," Davis said.

Prior to taking the head coaching position at Albertus Magnus, Delia held assistant coaching positions at Sacred Heart University, Fairfield University and Yale University. In addition, Delia is the Executive Director of DSquared Lacrosse, a clinic/camp program based out of Connecticut, and also a Director of Lacrosse at the CT Speed School and co-owner of Run & Shoot Lacrosse.

The Machine is coming off of the most successful season in club history in which they hosted. The 2016 Major League Lacrosse season is set to begin in April and run through August. For more information on the Machine, please visit www.theohiomachine.com.
