Ohio Machine News Release
COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Machine have added midfielder/faceoff specialist Andrew Bracy via the Major League Lacrosse Player Pool. Bracy participated in last weekend's open tryouts in Philadelphia, which was co-hosted with the Florida Launch.
As a senior at Norwich University in 2015, Bracy led all Division III faceoff specialists nationally, boasting a .743 winning percentage over 15 games (168-of-226). Bracy was a two-time All-GNAC selection, receiving Second Team honors in both 2014 and 2015. In addition, he was named to the NEILA East/West All-Star All-Region Team in 2015 as well as the NEILA Academic All-Region Team that same year.
Bracy appeared in 60 games for Norwich University, recording six goals, 148 ground balls and went an overall 365-of-545 in faceoffs (.669), the last of which sat second in program history at the time of his graduation.
Currently Bracy serves as a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Vermont, where Machine midfielder Jake Bernhardt is an assistant coach.
"He impressed us at the Philly tryout," Machine Head Coach and General Manager Bear Davis said. "Obviously he works with Jake Bernhardt at Vermont, and Jake has said good things about him as well. He'll be a solid addition to our squad and I'm looking forward to giving him a shot at training camp."
In addition, the Machine have traded midfielder/faceoff specialist Jonathan Paige to the Florida Launch in exchange for a 2020 Eighth Round Supplemental Draft Pick. Paige was added to the Machine roster earlier this week, after participating in last weekend's open tryouts in Philadelphia.
