Machel Millwood Named MISLPlayer Of The Week

Machel Millwood , Baltimore Blast

Baltimore Blast forward Machel Millwood recorded his second hat trick of the season yesterday to lead the Blast to a 23-14 victory over the Philadelphia KiXX. Millwood tallied one three-point goal, two two-point goals and one assist for eight total points in the match; the three-point goal was the first of his six-year career. His first two goals of the game came in the second quarter to give the Blast 11-2 and 13-2 leads and he scored the last goal of the game late in the fourth quarter. Millwood leads the Blast and is tied to rank sixth in the MISL with 33 points this season. He is also tied to rank fourth in the league with 11 two-point goals.

About the Major Indoor Soccer League

The MISL represents the major league of professional indoor soccer, featuring the finest indoor soccer players from around the world. The league consists of five member clubs in 2009-10: the Baltimore Blast, La RaZa de Monterrey, Philadelphia KiXX, Rockford Rampage and the Milwaukee Wave. The regular season will run for 18 weeks and will conclude on Sunday, March 21. The postseason is set to start the following weekend with the top three teams qualifying. The second- and third-place teams will square-off in a home-and-home Semifinal series with the winner advancing to battle the top seed.
