Long Beach Armada News Release

(Pleasanton, CA. December 22, 2006) The Golden Baseball League (GBL) announced today that Long Beach Armada General Manager, Jared Florin, has been signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers as a Sales Executive to handle premium seating and luxury box revenue opportunities. He is transitioning his responsibilities in Long Beach to new team president, David Wellenzohn, and will join the major league organization on the first of the New Year.

Florin, 24, a native of Long Island, New York, has been on a fast track on the business side of professional baseball since graduating from Quinnipiac University in Connecticut three years ago. Quickly establishing a reputation as one of the finest young sales executives in the minor leagues, he was extraordinarily successful in stints with the Brooklyn Cyclones (Mets affiliate) and the Staten Island Yankees (Yankees affiliate) before moving west last year to take on the task of leading the Long Beach Armada in their second season as General Manager, the youngest in all of professional baseball. His efforts led to business improvement for the team on all fronts; attendance, profitability, number of sponsors, and total revenue. He transformed Blair Field into a Pirate Oasis complete with a full-size Spanish Galleon replica bristling with smoke cannons on the left-field fence. In addition, his ability to develop sponsored theme and group affinity nights brought some of the most unique minor league events of 2006 including; Asian Heritage Night, Mullet Night, Negro Leagues Night, Boy Scout Camp-In-The Park Night, Dress Like-A-Pirate Night, Guaranteed Victory Night, and Guinness World Records Night . He also garnered his team national attention resulting in attendance and merchandise spikes by having the Armada featured in a USA Network Television show and by signing Jose Canseco for the second half of the season.

"This is a tough loss for the league, but it is great for our reputation of providing high potential job opportunities to our front office staff in all of our markets," said Golden Baseball League CEO David Kaval. "This is our second employee to be signed at the big league level along with ten others that are now working in the farm systems of major league clubs, and is a fine example of why high quality sports management professionals should make the GBL their first choice of employer."
