Long Beach Armada Announce 2008 Schedule

The Long Beach Armada Professional Baseball Team is pleased to announce their official 2008 schedule as it prepares for its fourth year of providing affordable sports and family entertainment at Historic Blair Field.

Coming off its strongest season on the field and at the box office, The Armada's home schedule will increase from 32 games in 2007 to 44 games in 2008. The Armada will also have new visitors at Blair Field as two new teams from Canada, the Calgary Vipers and Edmonton Cracker-Cats, join the Golden Baseball League to bring the total number of teams to eight.

Opening Night for the Armada will be a superstitious one, Friday, June 13th against the Yuma Scorpions. Other 2008 highlights on the schedule will include 3 double headers, two visits from the Canadian teams, and a six game series against cross town rival Orange County to end the season. The Golden Baseball League will have an All-Star game on Tuesday, July 15th in Fullerton. The 88-game 2008 schedule will conclude at the end of August with two rounds of playoffs in early September.
