Local Youth Prospect Abraham Signs Exceptional Young Talent Deal with Atlético

OTTAWA, ON - Atlético Ottawa has today confirmed the signing of Ottawa forward Reinaldo Abraham to an Exceptional Young Talent (EYT) Standard Player Contract through the 2028 Canadian Premier League (CPL) season with club options for 2029 and 2030.
Abraham, 18, joined Atlético on August 11 on a Development Contract and has since made three substitute appearances for Atlético. The Ottawa forward made his professional debut in a late comeback victory away to FC Supra du Québec on August 16.

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Abraham is a product of Toronto FC Academy and played local youth soccer with Ottawa South United. The Exceptional Young Talent designation allows a CPL Club to sign up to three (3) additional Under-18 domestic players to Standard Player Contracts outside of its twenty-three (23) man Primary Roster. For the 2026 League Season, new players signed under this designation must be born on or after Jan. 1, 2008 or later to be eligible to be signed as an Exceptional Young Talent Player.

Abraham is Atlético Ottawa's third-ever EYT signing after local forward Ralph Khoury, who has since been promoted to the Primary Roster, and defender Sergei Kozlovskiy who recently captained Canada U-20 as they qualified for the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Abraham remains available for selection and will continue to wear number 77.
