TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Storm has acquired wide receiver and kick returner Michael Lindsey, announced vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch.

"Michael has the ability to play in all phases of the game," said Gooch. "His capacity to play on offense, defense and special teams makes him a valuable asset that any team would love to have. We're glad he is back with the Storm."

Lindsey (6-foot-1, 218 lbs., Northwestern Mississippi) joins Tampa for his sixth season in the blue and gold.

"What a great feeling to be back with the Storm," said Lindsey. "I started my career in Tampa and I'm looking forward to seeing what the future brings."

The Boca Ciega H.S. product joined the Storm in 2011 and saw immediate action at both the wide receiver and kick returner positions. As the team's primary kick returner, Lindsey would go on to set the team's single season kickoff return yards record as a rookie with 1,745 yards. Lindsey holds three of the top season performances as a kickoff returner.

On April 26, 2014, versus the Spokane Shock, Lindsey surpassed Storm legend and AFL Hall of Famer, George LaFrance, to become the franchise's all-time leader in kickoff return yards. He currently sits at 6,039 kickoff return yards.

Lindsey has the ability to play ironman football, playing in all three phases of the game. Aside from playing at wide receiver and kick returner, he can play jack linebacker.

Lindsey is a threat on both sides of the ball, having the ability to play at receiver and jack linebacker. Offensively, he's caught 196 passes for 2,132 yards and 27 touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball he has 54.5 tackles, four forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, an interception and a pass breakup.

The team also acquired defensive back Chris Pickett.

He finished his collegiate career with 206 total tackles, 10.0 tackles for loss, 14 passes defended, five forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

The Crestview, FL native began his AFL career in 2016 as a member of the Jacksonville Sharks.
