Lights FC Ends Four Game Road Trip with 1-1 Tie
August 18, 2022 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Las Vegas Lights FC News Release
MATCH SUMMARY:
Lights FC closed their four game road trip with a midweek battle against Orange County SC, the defending USL Championship title holders.
OCSC struck early with Milan Iloski's league leading 19th goal of the 2022 season, giving his team a 1-0 lead going into the halftime break.
Las Vegas closed the first half in a strong way, creating multiple opportunities, but weren't rewarded until seven minutes after the second half kicked off. Cal Jennings found the back of the net after Orange County's goalkeeper wasn't able to control the ball off of an Ima Almaguer shot from outside the box. It was Jenning's eighth goal of the year and 19th overall for Cal in his 37 games with the Lights, that have him as the team's all-time leading scorer.
With the 1-1 tie, Lights FC now has 34 points that have them above the playoff line in the Western Conference at sixth place. The top seven teams will advance to the USL Championship postseason.
SCORING SUMMARY:
1-0 Orange County SC, Milan Iloski - 10th minute
1-1 Las Vegas, Cal Jennings - 52nd minute
NEXT MATCH:
Lights FC will return to Cashman Field on Saturday, August 20th to face Sacramento Republic FC, with kick off set for 7:30 p.m. During the halftime break, a seven hundred person U.S. Naturalization Ceremony will be held on the pitch.
