
LHP Jack Raines Re-Signs with Paints

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by Adena Health System, will have another familiar face in its bullpen this season, as LHP Jack Raines has singed to play for a second consecutive season in Ohio's First Capital.
Raines pitched for the Paints last summer and was named the Prospect League's Galen Woods Fireman of the Year winner as the league's top reliever. Raines appeared in 20 regular-season games for the Paints last summer, all out of the bullpen. He led the team with nine saves and had an ERA of 1.00. Raines allowed just three earned runs over 27 innings of work, he allowed 20 hits, struck out 35 and walked just two.
This past spring at Baldwin Wallace University, his senior season, Raines went 4-4 with six saves and an ERA of 3.63. Raines continued to make batter miss, he struck out 78 batters The left-hander was named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Second-Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference.
The 2019 Chillicothe Paints season begins Thursday, May 30, at VA Memorial Stadium against the Champion City Kings at 7:05 p.m. Enjoy an Opening Day FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA by 94 Country and draft beer will be just $1 for Thirsty Thursday. The Paints have made the playoffs seven times in the 10 seasons since joining the Prospect League as a charter member in 2009.
