Lee Pinney Honored at MLL Semi-Final

Fairfield, CT - Major League Lacrosse, the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, announced today that Lee Pinney, local legend for Connecticut lacrosse, will be honored at the 2016 MLL Semi-Final in Fairfield University's Rafferty Stadium in Fairfield, CT on August 13.
Pinney played collegiate lacrosse at Cornell University during the early 60s and has focused on giving back to the sport throughout his life. Pinney is a commercial farmer who has supported lacrosse by dedicating a portion of his land to playing fields for recreation and club teams. Through his efforts, he has helped youth and adult leagues in New England continue to play the sport of lacrosse.
"Lee Pinney is a great ambassador for the sport of lacrosse," said MLL Operations Manager Colin Keane. "Growing up in Connecticut, I played on Lee's farm and there were very few times you could drive past Pinney's fields without someone playing lacrosse in some capacity."
Lee, who was inducted into the Connecticut Lacrosse Hall Of Fame in 2010 alongside of Pat McCahill, Rick McCarthy, Bob McHenry, Mike Pressler, Bonnie Rosen, and Dee Stephan, is set to be recognized by Major League Lacrosse for the impact he has had on and off the field for lacrosse.
Fairfield University will host the Semi-Final Game at Rafferty Stadium at 4:00 p.m. ET.
