
League Awards Compensatory Draft Selections to Edmonton Rush

The National Lacrosse League has announcedthat the Edmonton Rush will be awarded two compensatory draft selections, the first at the conclusion of the second round of the 2014 NLL Entry Draft and the second at the end of the third round of the 2015 Draft, as a result of losing forward Ryan Ward to unrestricted free agency prior to the 2014 season.
The awarding of compensatory draft selections is outlined in the league's Collective Bargaining Agreement under Article 7 (Free Agency) in Section 7.2 (Unrestricted Free Agency):
F. Compensatory Draft Selections. Any club that loses an Unrestricted Free Agent shall be eligible to receive a compensatory draft selection(s) that will be issued by the League in a formula to be determined solely by the League.
The 2014 NLL Entry Draft will take place on Monday, Sept. 22 at Toronto Rock Athletic Centre (TRAC) in Oakville, Ontario.
