League Announces Name Change

Published on August 25, 2005 under American Indoor Football Association (AIFA) News Release

Canton, Ohio - The AIFL League office today announced that effective immediately they would operate under a new name. Formerly known as the Atlantic Indoor Football League, the league will now officially be known as the American Indoor Football League.

AIFL President and Founder Andrew Haines was quick to point out that because of the planned growth of the league nationally the new name was better suited. " Our goal is of course to grow, but in a way that is conducive to our regional and national plans. We have been contacted by many potential franchise owners that represent a wide cross section of the country and it is inevitable that we will be nation wide by 2007".

Currently the league is represented in the eastern section of the country, which makes up the Atlantic Division. Applications are being accepted for the remaining geographical areas now for play in the 2007 season.

Interested parties should contact the AIFL office at 330-453-2860 or email ahaines@aiflonline.com.

The American Indoor Football League will be moving into a new office space in down town Canton, Ohio by October 1st. Due to the move emailing the office might get a faster reply. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

The American Indoor Football League is set to kickoff it's 2nd season on February 25th, 2006. Each team will play 7 home and 7 away regular season games.
