Larry Babcock returns to IBL as co-director of officiating

Portland, OR- The IBL has announced that Larry Babcock has returned to the league as Director of Officiating of the IBL's East Division and as one of the four members of the IBL Officials Advisory Board. Larry took year a year off in 2007 but is returning to the IBL with a renewed commitment to excellence. Larry sees the IBL referee program as a development program for the NBA with standards to be equal to that of the NBA. Larry attended an NBDL camp this summer in which 11 IBL referees were present.

IBL Commissioner Mikal Duilio-"Larry brings a sense of team among referees, and is dedicated to promoting quality across the board."

The three other members of the Officials Advisory Board are Vernon Onick, Jackie Sanders and Josh Rombach. Onick is the IBL's Director of Officiating in the West Division, and a fourth-year official in the IBL. Sanders is also a fourth-year official in the league, while Rombach is returning for his third campaign.

"This board is great for the league," said Duilio. "It is a group committed to excellence and NBA standards for officiating and professionalism."
