Chillicothe Paints News Release
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Prospect League released its Post Season All-Stars and Awards Wednesday and two Chillicothe Paints made the cut. Jesse Forestell (Western Michigan University) was named to the East Division team at catcher and Jamie Lackner (College of Wooster) made the list as a designated hitter.
Just like the mid-season all-stars, the post season all-stars and awards are voted on by the field manager, a front office member, and media representative for each team.
Forestell and Lackner both represented the Paints at the All-Star Game in Kokomo, Indiana, in July as members of the mid-season East Division All-Stars.
Forestell hit .270 in 40 games for the Paints and collected five doubles, one triple, one home run, and was fourth on the team with 21 RBIs. Defensively, the Homewood, Ill., native allowed just three passed balls in 27 games behind the plate and threw out more than 20% of would-be base-stealers.
Lackner played in a team-high 56 of the Paints' 60 games and led the team in batting average at .308, hit 11 doubles, one triple, and led the team in RBIs with 29. The Westlake, Ohio, native finished the season tied for the league lead in walks with 42. The 6-foot-4, 245-pound infielder played 36 games at third base and 19 at first and cimmitted just eight errors. Lackner reached base safely in every Paints home game from June 23 through the end of the season.
