Kyle Bailey Earns Honorable Mention

FRISCO, Texas (Tuesday, March 11, 2008) - The North American Hockey League announced on Monday evening that Mahoning Valley Phantoms forward Kyle Bailey earned an honorable mention for Player of the Week in the North Division.

Bailey, 20, returning from injury, notched two goals on Saturday in a 4-3 loss to the Marquette Rangers to help him earn his second mention of the season. The goals were his third and fourth of the year.

"Kyle was coming back from injury and we had to keep him out on Friday night just for precautionary measures," said Phantoms head coach Bob Mainhardt. "But we put him in on Saturday, and he obviously had a big impact on our lineup, and we plan on him being an impact player here down the stretch for us every night."

Bailey and the second place Phantoms are back in action this Friday through Sunday, when they host the fourth place Traverse City North Stars. With a win this weekend, the Phantoms can clinch a spot in the post-season.

Game time Friday and Saturday is slated for 7:15 p.m. at the Ice Zone in Boardman. The opening face-off Sunday is set for 3 p.m. The Phantoms will be wearing special edition, green St. Patrick's Day jerseys on Saturday and Sunday that will be auctioned off to fans after the game.

The Mahoning Valley Phantoms are owned by the B.J. Alan Company - Phantom Fireworks, located in Youngstown, Ohio.
