Knoxville Storm GM and Coach Announced

July 3, 2008 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release


Knoxville, TN. Chris Glisson has accepted the position as General Manager of the ABA Knoxville Storm professional basketball team that begins play in December. Glisson comes to the Storm from St. Joseph, Michigan with a collegiate career playing football and baseball at Olivet College (MIAA) where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree majoring in Health, Physical Education and Recreation. Glisson's background includes coaching, sales/marketing and financial management.

Knoxville native Chad Smith will serve as Head Coach of the Knoxville Storm in this inaugural season. Smith is currently in his second year as a staff member of the Tennessee Travelers, an elite summer traveling team that is sponsored by Nike. Smith is also a resident coach in the pilot Rocky Top League in Knoxville. This will be his first year coaching on a professional level.

Smith obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, a Master of Art degree in Curriculum and Instruction and his Education Specialist Degree in Instructional Leadership from Tennessee Technological University.
