Knighthawks Announce Champion's Cup Tour

Rochester, NY... The newly crowned National Lacrosse League Champion Rochester Knighthawks will be presenting the Champion's Cup at various locations across Rochester this week. The Cup Tour follows Monday's Championship festivities.

"The Knighthawks are proud to share our NLL championship with our fans and corporate partners here in Rochester," said Knighthawks President Lewis Staats. "The victory parade and celebration at City Hall on Monday, along with our fan event at the BCA, kicked off an exciting week. The Knighthawks are giving as many people as possible the opportunity to share the Champion's Cup."

The busiest day is Wednesday, as Knighthawks forward and Rochester native Joe Walters will make five stops on the Cup Tour. The Cup will begin at the Tim Horton's on Paul Road at 8:00 a.m. It will then move to the Tim Horton's at 1508 Jefferson Road at 9:30 a.m. The Knighthawks mascot, R. Thunder, will also make an appearance at both Tim Horton's locations.

At noon, the Cup will make an appearance at Bob Johnson Chevrolet (1271 Ridge Road) followed by a showing at The Distillery's Greece location at 2:30 p.m. The Cup will make its final stop of the day at Hurricanes Lacrosse practice at the American Legion field in Greece (344 Dorsey Road). Walters will visit with kids starting at 5:30 p.m.

"It's cool to share our accomplishment with kids so they can strive to reach their goals. It's also important to share our accomplishment with the city and our supporters," Walters said.

On Thursday, June 6th the Cup will be at the Mt. Hope Distillery at 12:30 p.m. Rounding out the week of appearances, the Cup will visit Dick IDE Honda (875 Panorama Trail S.) at noon on Friday, June 7th.

The Champion's Cup is awarded each year to the National Lacrosse League Champion. The first Cup was awarded in 1987. The Knighthawks have won four Champion's Cups, including three in the last seven years.

Joe Walters and John Catalano, the Knighthawks Vice President of Sales, presented the Cup at the Northside School in Fairport on Tuesday. Approximately 375 people were in attendance to be a part of the Cup presentation.
