KiXX' Ricardinho Named NISL Player of the Week

The native of Sao Paulo, Brazil registered a game-high six points in Philadelphia's 10-8 overtime win versus the Rockford Rampage on March 1. Ricardinho posted a pair of two-point goals and added two assists, including the feed on the game-winning goal to teammate David Castellanos at 4:04 of the extra stanza. With the six-point performance, the six-year veteran is now ranked third among all NISL scorers with 41 points this season. Ricardinho was also named the League's Player of the Week for the seven-day period ending February 8.

About the National Indoor Soccer League

The National Indoor Soccer League was launched in September of 2008 and consists of five founding members; the Baltimore Blast, La RaZa de Monterrey, Philadelphia KiXX, Rockford Rampage and the Massachusetts Twisters. The NISL has formed a working relationship with the United Soccer Leagues (USL) and will become a member of the United States Soccer Federation (USSF).

The NISL kicked off its inaugural season on November 15th and will continue through March with the playoffs taking place the first two weeks of April. The 2009 NISL Championship Series will consist of three of the five NISL clubs competing in two rounds, the Semifinal Round (first weekend of April) and the Championship Series Final (second week of April). The first-place team will get an automatic bye to host the Championship Game and the second- and third-place teams will play a home-and-home series with the winner advancing to the Finals.
