Kimbro Traded to Bobcats
January 27, 2009 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Bismarck Bobcats News Release
The Bismarck Bobcats have acquired center Derek Kimbro from the Springfield Junior Blues in exchange for the rights to former Bobcat Bryan Kozlowski. Kimbro is a native of Nashville, Tennessee and played last season in Springfield. This season he played with the Alaska Avalanche before being traded back to the Junior Blues.
Kimbro has combined for 11 points (4 goals, 7 assist) in 24 games this season. Last season, he had 6 points (3g, 3a) and was a plus-4 in eight playoff games with the Junior Blues.
"Derek is a blue-collar player who adds more depth to our forwards," said Bobcats Head Coach Byron Pool. "He will also provide us with another true centerman."
The addition of Kimbro should also provide another character player to the locker room.
"Kimbro is a great teammate and should be a welcome addition to our team," added Assistant Coach Aaron Kinslow. "Really (Kimbro) compliments what we already have."
The Bobcats will host the Albert Lea Thunder this weekend on Friday (7:30pm) and Saturday (7:00pm) night.
