Kick it up Sunday with the Caps

Vancouver Whitecaps News Release

The Richmond Kickers, who will be making their second ever appearance at Swangard this weekend, will be looking to snap the Whitecaps 10 game home unbeaten streak. The last time the Kickers came to town was back on July 29, 2001, in a controversial 3-2 overtime win for the Caps. During that game Richmond had two coaches and a player ejected from the bench and two more players were red carded after the game. Sunday's game, set to kick off at 7:00pm, is sure to be another heated contest as the Kickers still have last weekend's 2-0 loss to the Caps fresh in their minds.

If the Whitecaps plan on remaining undefeated at home, 7-0-3, Kevin Harmse and the rest of the Caps D-line will have to keep a close mark on Kickers' forward Matthew Delicate, who is currently tied for fourth in the league with eight goals.

With one point separating the Caps and Kickers, Sunday's match will be an important game for both team's playoff aspirations.

Sunday is a Whitecaps Family Night with 4 tickets and 2 Happy Meals from just $49. Call 604.280.4400 for tickets, or click here to buy online.
