
Katy Ruff Riders sign broadcast partnership with ESPN Radio 97.5 The Ticket & Channel 55 KTBU

KATY, TX - The Katy Ruff Riders Professional Indoor Football Team announced today that they have reached an exclusive programming, marketing and advertising partnership with ESPN Radio 97.5 FM The Ticket and Channel 55 KTBU that will include live radio coverage of all 14 Ruff Riders regular season games, as well as any post-season games. The agreement also calls for Channel 55 to televise all seven Ruff Riders home games from the Merrell Center in Katy.
The deal consists of media and marketing rights including television, live and streaming radio, internet, broadband, wireless and licensing rights to all Katy Ruff Riders events, both during the regular season and the post-season, including the Intense League All-Star game.
"This partnership is a very critical component to the success of our franchise," said Katy Ruff Riders General Manager and Director of Business Operations Steve Martin. "It will enhance our ability to tap into TV and Radio marketing and promotional opportunities and brings more value and exposure to the table for our sponsors. And we couldn't be more excited about partnering with two outstanding media entities."
In addition, ESPN Radio 97.5 The Ticket Program Director Jon Madani also announced that "The Bottom Line" afternoon drive talk show host Jorge Vargas will be a part of the Ruff Riders on-air team in the booth. Vargas is also the Sports Director at KHWB Channel 39. "We are truly excited to be on the ground floor of such an addictive sport, and to be partnering with Houston's brand new indoor pro football team" said Madani. "And when Jorge approached us about his interest in becoming a part of our broadcast team, that was just icing on the cake."
Channel 55 will announce their on-air talent at a later date. "Channel 55 is very pleased to have the opportunity to bring the excitement of Katy Ruff Riders football to Houston," said KTBU General Manager Matt Reiff. "We are committed to local programming that features the things that are important to viewers in this area, and sports is a very big part of our plan."
