
Katy Ruff Riders name Fanucchi Director of Media Relations

Katy, TX - The Katy Ruff Riders of the Intense Football League announced today that David Fanucchi has been named Director of Media Relations. Fanucchi will handle all the writing and distribution of Ruff Riders press releases, assist the media in game coverage, and help generate news media interest to create publicity opportunities for the Ruff Riders. In addition, he will also assist the team in the selling of sponsorships, season ticket packages, and television and radio advertising.
Fanucchi is also the President/CEO of Fanucchi Communications - his professional sports media relations business based in Houston. Since he began operating in June of 2006, Dave has handled media relations for such local sporting events as the 2007 East West Shrine Game, the 2006 Texas Bowl, and the Rotary Lombardi Award that honors the top college football lineman in America. His past professional experience includes seven years as the Director of Communications for USA Baseball, where he was the press officer for Team USA at the 2006 World Baseball Classic, as well the gold medal- winning USA Baseball Team at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.
The Katy Ruff Riders are an indoor professional football team that plays in the IFL - a league founded in 2003 that consists of eight indoor professional teams, two of which are located outside of Texas, the Louisiana Swashbucklers of Lake Charles, Louisiana and the Alaska Wild of Anchorage, Alaska. Other Texas teams include the CenTex Barracudas, Corpus Christi Hammerheads, Frisco Thunder, Odessa Roughnecks, and San Angelo Stampede Express. All eight (8) Ruff Riders home games as well as selected away games and the IFL All-Star game, will be televised on Channel 55 (The Tube) in Houston; and all games (home, away and All-Star) will be broadcast on ESPN - The Ticket (97.5 FM) radio in Houston. In addition, the Ruff Riders will host the IFL All-Star game in August 2007, which will include a combine for IFL players, attended by representatives from the Arena Football League, Canadian Football League and NFL.
The community of Katy is located just west of downtown Houston. Supported by the Katy Chamber of Commerce as well as the Houston-area business community, the Ruff Riders are excited about their upcoming season. The Ruff Riders play all home games (April-July 2007) at the Leonard E. Merrell Center - www.merrellcenter.org - in Katy.
