JetHawks return from All-Star break on Thursday

(Lancaster, CA) - The Lancaster JetHawks will return from the All-Star break to host a homestand that will include the annual Fourth of July celebration on Monday, July 4. A post-game Fireworks Spectacular will cap off the event at Clear Channel Stadium at Lancaster, CA.

The homestand begins Thursday, June 30 against the High Desert Mavericks. The Mavericks will visit Lancaster for one game, and the homestand continues with two games against the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes on Friday and Saturday.

To begin the brief series with the Quakes on Friday, the JetHawks will be handing out 2005 Lancaster JetHawks Team Posters to the first 1,000 fans compliments of American Medical Response. Friday's game will also feature the Ameci's Pizza Friday Family Fun Pack. For $25, fans will receive four reserved section tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas, two fun zone credits, and a souvenir program. The entire night is sponsored by American Medical Response, the Antelope Valley Press, and Magic 1340 AM.

On Saturday, the Flight Crew Booster Club will be holding its annual Shirt Off Our Backs night as part of the game. As part of the Tenth Anniversary Salute, the JetHawks will be rolling back the clock by playing in 1996 home replica jerseys. The Flight Crew will be holding an auction as a fundraiser for these commemorative jerseys. The winning bids will be announced following the game.

In addition to the Shirt Off Our Back promotion, the JetHawks will hold the 2005 Hall of Fame Induction. This year's class includes current Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Brandon Webb and former Antelope Valley High School baseball coach, Bud Jones. Webb spent the 2001 season in Lancaster before making his Major League debut in 2003. Baseball America tabbed the right hander as the National League Rookie of the Year following his first Major League season. Bud Jones spent 11 years as the baseball coach at Antelope Valley High School, and went on to be the head coach at Antelope Valley College. Jones was named the National High School Baseball coach of the year by the American Coaches Association in 1971, and enters the Hall of Fame as a friend of baseball in the Antelope Valley.

The homestand will continue on Monday with the Fourth of July Celebration and Fireworks. The annual event has limited availability, with only General Admission grass tickets remaining. The Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular is sponsored by Bank of America, the AV Press, and 103.1 FM KTPI Country.

Friday, Saturday, and Monday will also feature Home Run Fireworks sponsored by First City Credit Union. Whenever a JetHawks player hits a home run, the sky will be lit up with fireworks compliments of First City Credit Union.
